Hello there, Internet.

Sunday, March 1, 2015

I love March.  I love leprechauns and Irish accents.  Do you remember when you were little and kids would threaten to pinch you for not wearing green?  I used to use my charm and green eyes to get away with it.  Every. Single. Time.  It was awesome!  I wish I could use them to get away with other things now, like paying taxes, but I digress…

I’m super excited for this month!  I love celebrating St. Patrick’s Day!  My second graders are still at the age where they kinda/sorta believe in things like Holiday Elves (ours was named Sneaky Bob…he certainly lived up to that moniker), The Tooth Fairy, The Desk Fairy, and leprechauns.  {Well, sort of, except now some of them are too “cool” for things like that.}  I’m planning to take their coolness down a notch this month, because my class leprechaun is going to force them to keep believing until June.  Mark my words.

Here’s my Currently for the month of March!  A huge shout out once again to the lovely Farley, she’s pretty amazing!

March Currently

Listening: I finally convinced my mom to watch Grey’s Anatomy!  So I’m now on my second round of watching Season 9.  I love this show!  My memory is horrible, so it’s almost brand new again, too.  Miranda is my favorite character.  She’s so sassy!  Who’s yours?

Loving: If you’re a Mac person, I don’t have to explain myself here.  If you’re not a Mac person, I still don’t have to explain myself.  Because they’re awesome!!!

Thinking: The California cold kind of snuck up on me today, and I was freezing.  I know, I know.  Most of you have been stuck inside practically all of February, due to the mountains and hills of snow on your driveways.  I would rather have that over hot weather, honestly.  But I also don’t like any weather to sneak up on me.

Wanting: I’ve heard of teachers who have a two-week Spring Break! What is that? How do I get one of those?

Needing: This could apply to so many aspects of my life, really, but for now I will just focus on blogging and TpT.  I need to get my act together in those areas.  At least I’m a really good Instagramer!

Spring Break Plans: I love sleeping in. And I love working out. Also, I love pizza. I think I’m going to try to make it the whole week without including pizza. Wish me luck.

I hope you all have an amazing month!  Let me know what your leprechauns are up to!

Happy Teaching!

  1. I love March too, for the same reasons, I celebrate St. Patty's day, no matter what all the kill joys say! plus I found out a few years ago that I really am half Irish, so how cool is that? Anyway, I don't watch Grey's but have always heard good things about it, I'm more of a Supernatural fan. I also know about Mac Books, I had one at my last district, but this one doesn't use them, major bummer and I'm too cheap to buy my own. I also need to build some good habits like exercising daily, I have gotten way off the track! I only have one week of spring break, where are those schools with 2??? thanks Paula

    1. You should definitely watch Grey's! I love Supernatural, too! I don't know where the 2-week Spring Break schools are, but they are definitely not anywhere close to me! I hope you enjoy your Spring Break! P.S. I love your blog, and I just nominated you for a Liebster Award! See my most recent post for info. :)

  2. Hi Heidi,

I love your blog decor! I would love to have two weeks break too! I am also in California and it rained all day today - we need it. I am like you - I need to focus more on TpT and blogging. Are you going to the TpT conference? I went last year and had a blast - going again this year too.

    Take care,
    Karen

  3. Just found your blog through the March Currently! Where do you teach in CA? I am in Placerville near Sacramento. I also teach second grade. Is it really the last season of Grey's? I usually watch it, but this year I haven't too much! Have a great week!

    1. Hi! It's so nice to meet other California teachers! (Especially ones who teach second! The best grade ever, obviously!) I live in Orange County. It's beautiful up where you are! I just finished the 10th season of Grey's, I think. I only watch it on Netflix, because I hate tv commercials, so I have to wait to see the last season when they add it! I can't believe it's almost over! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

  5. I just couldn't resist popping over when I saw your blog name - Glitter is my middle name and unfortunately the cleaning staff would say that it being everywhere is a daily occurrence!! I also love Grey's Anatomy and yes certainly Miranda is sassy but there are so many good characters in this series it's difficult to choose. Here in England we certainly don't have the weather some of the U.S. has been experiencing but we have had snow this year which we didn't last year so it has been like a proper winter at least :-) We are all looking forward to Easter when we have our next holiday so I hope you have a lovely Spring Break and enjoy those late mornings and having time to yourself!! 1. I love your blog name, too! I'm happy to find another Grey's fan! They do such a great job on there, and I love the whole cast. I am SO JEALOUS that you live in England! What part are you in? I am hoping to visit London this year in winter! It's my favorite time of year, and so beautiful in the English countryside. I hope you have a lovely Spring Break, as well! :)

  6. Last summer I found Grey's repeats from 1-4pm everyday. I caught it towards the beginning of season 1, got to see all of that Denny drama and I loved it!

  8. Your blog is soo cute! I need that 2 week spring break too! So where in Cali are you? I'm in the central valley. I am frustrated by our weather right now. It is just tuff for me to figure out what to wear. I know I was a fashion disaster Tuesday. Flip flops with my maxi skirt on bottom and a jacket and scarf on top. It was 38 degrees on my way to school and then it was 70 that afternoon. How do you dress for that?? I need to get my act together with my TpT too. I just inherited my sons Macbook Pro and despite the learning curve, since I have always had a PC, I agree I love it. Have a great week!

    1. Thank you!!! I love the central valley! I'm in Orange County! I know all about fashion disasters. I never know what to wear to work, either! Layers are my best friend! Especially this week...it has been in the 90's and should be 20 degrees cooler by the end of the week. I can't handle the 90's. I hope you keep loving your new (to you!) MacBook! I'm learning new things every day! Have a wonderful week!!! :)
